Blackbird 002: HP's Gaming PC

Proposed merger of Voodoo PC with HP in September 2006 was a major occurrence in the business world. It is merely a year of governance of new entity and we have started reaping fruits of alliance as HP has introduced a new gaming PC dubbed Blackbird 002. The premium gaming PC seems to be introduced for choking the huge success of ‘Dell’s XPS 720′.

Hosting a rich hardware, HP’s Blackbird owns AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors and Radeon HD graphics cards to Intel Core 2 Extreme CPUs, Nvidia GeForce 8-series GPUs, with Ageia PhysX physics accelerator cards and Blu-ray burners to boot. Moreover, unlike the XPS, the Blackbird uses standard ATX motherboards and power supplies, making it easier to upgrade.

HP says that Blackbird 002 has been designed by gamers and for gamers. Beautified with gorgeous looks including aluminum chassis, the cast-aluminum foot, the PC has is designed to deliver extreme performance. It features patented, full system liquid-cooling to keep itself running cool in even the most heated head-to-head gaming scenarios.

The system’s removable side panel, open BIOS, and interior and back panel LED lighting make it convenient for gamers to get inside the machine for performance modification.

Blackbird 002 will be available for purchase from October 1st onward with one year limited warranty at a suggestive price of $2500 - $7100 (Pricing depends on configuration).
