Wii Power Glove for Wii

Nintendo’s next-en console Wii went on sale on Friday in UK with selling off somewhat 50,000 units in just small span of 12 hours that tells direly the success of Wii console around the regions including US where it sold more than 6 million hardware in eight days and homeland Japan as well. But Europe is facing some delivery shortage as the buyers are complaining the scarcity of the consoles since more than 1200 units have been pulled off online within hours after the launch of the console. But Nintendo is trying to eradicate the problem soon.

Wii-mote is pocketing a great feedback on the part of young as well as veteran gamers for performing extrovert gameplay. Now some modification has been deployed to the same motion sensitive controller that has brought entirely a new appearance to the Wii-mote. The controller is entirely designed in the shape of glove that’s why named Wii Power Glove. The glove comes with the finger trigger with incorporated Wii-mote in just back side of the glove. The power glove seems quite power hungry which needs two batteries to make a cool play with the glove. You need not press any button because the integrated trigger can make a vigorous shower of gunfire on to your target at the simple click of trigger.

Logitech Harmony Adapter announced for PS3

PS3 owners, sit up and take notice - Logitech has just announced that its Logitech Harmony Adapter for the PS3 is readily available, letting you use your Harmony universal remote control with Sony’s latest gaming console. It will offer support for all 51 PS3 commands (yes, count them!), where you will be able to navigate the PS3 XrossMediaBar from afar (as long as the range permits, that is) without having to tussle with the PS3 controller’s form factor that was meant more for gaming than anything else. Those who are interested can pick up the Logitech Harmony Adapter for $59.99 while our friends across the pond can only do so in July.

GP2X Wiz Game System

“Not another handheld console!” might be the exact words when you come across the GP2X Wiz Game System from Gamepark Holding. Well, this offers nothing new in terms of portable gaming, although it seems to skew more towards computer-based hardware, with a Linux-based operating system and 1GB of internal memory which can be further augmented by an SD memory card slot. The GP2X Wiz is the sequel to the GP2X, where it boasts multimedia support for that added dimension to portable entertainment, while the 533Mhz 3D accelerator plus flash engine support handles all its games with aplomb. Each purchase will come with 12 games already preloaded, and some of these are demos of future titles. We wonder how the touchscreen display function is going to be exploited by developers for new, engaging titles to be released. Do you think the asking price of $179.90 is a wee bit too high?

D-Box GP-100: Chary Gaming Chair!

Gaming gears are getting better looks than ever and the gaming furniture is one of them that is coming out in elegant shapes every day but it still has a long way to go.

D-Box GP-100 is the new gaming chair, a modish effort with an elegant make to deliver some real field effects during gaming session.

The gaming chair is another feather to the same cap that enhances your living room. The lounge makes the use of Sparco seat to give you the real life simulation. The chair senses the unevenness (like bumps) of track during racing game and offers you the same simulation as you were inside the car.

One more shocking thing about the chair is its price i.e. $15K. The game will appear at the store shelves sometime next month. Certainly, to shell out a bulky amount of $15,000 seems too lavish.

XCM Eye Candy Replacement Shell Kit for Nintendo DSi

Those that enjoy seeing the inside of their gadgets are going to love this new kit for the Nintendo DSi. It coats your DSi in a bright candy color and keeps things nice and clear. It’s far more interesting than just slapping a skin on the outside and a little easier than attempting to create a clear case that will show the insides of it all on your own.

The kit comes in various colors, those being candy apple red, emerald green, electric blue, a completely clear shell and then a non-clear matte black and then a white one. Not only is there a shell included, but color coordinated buttons to complete the transformation. They also include the tools you’ll need to make the case your own and keep it customized to your tastes. As far as putting the shell on all you’ll need is a screwdriver. The shell will cost you $25.99 from Divineo.

Xbox360 laptop Model v2

Modder Ben Heck over Engadget has once again modified the Xbox360 laptop by trimming its body. It’s just few days back when Ben had its last mod, the ps360 sixaxis controller that also received lots of appraisals from gamers all around the globe and now new mode is on hand.

This time he has hacked the existing Xbox360 laptop with incorporating some upgrades so as to make it an enhanced mod.

In the latest mod, Ben has implanted the brains of Xbox360 in a black case instead of prior’s crystal white. Also, he has trimmed down the heavy tummy of existing one so that making it a bit more portable. Ben has attached an extensive image gallery telling about his new hack. Go step-by-step through image gallery (here) to get onto Xbox360 laptop.

ATI Radeon HD 4890 breaks 1GHz barrier

Gamers will tell you that it is all about the speed with every single bit of special effects cranked up to the maximum without losing a single frame, but unfortunately for the average man on the street, purchasing a couple or even three of such high-end video cards places a great strain on the monthly budget, which is why high-end video cards are never the main bread-and-butter products for companies that churn them out, although they are great technological breakthroughs and examples worth drooling over. AMD’s recent launch of the ATI Radeon HD 4890 graphics card that was touted to be the most powerful graphics processor in the world is now even better, as AMD has made available a factory overclocked graphics processor which will be the first of its kind to break the 1GHz barrier using nothing but standard air-cooling solutions.

Zune and Xbox 360, combined!

Just to let you know, this product here, complete with picture, is a rumor. The source of this story comes from Team Xbox, who say that Microsoft is working on this Digital Entertainment Handheld. This is what it is: an Xbox 360 with a Zune. Your two favorite things in one package? Well, maybe not the Zune, but one out of two ain’t bad. (Not another “Zune slam”, stop it already.)

Anyway, the project is codenamed “xYz”. I am assuming the “X” comes from the Xbox 360 and the “Z” comes from the Zune. As for the “Y”, the answer to that is “because they can, and it would make money”.

Other facts are pretty sketchy at this point, but we do know that the xYz will come with a WVGA touchscreen. Assuming, of course, that it gets created.

Tony Hawk: RIDE set to thrill

The skateboard is one mode of transport that tends to lean more towards the hardcore segment of the population as there is a huge international scene behind it. Well, for those who prefer to experience the thrills minus the spills, here’s the new Tony Hawk: RIDE game from Activision Publishing which will require the gamer to play physically using an innovative motion sensing skateboard controller. We’re guessing seasoned skaters will find this to be much easier to use compared to those who have even yet to try out the Wii Balance Board.

Tony Hawk: RIDE features a wireless skateboard controller designed in conjunction with the game to offer a dynamic gaming experience built from the ground up. Using a combination of accelerometers and motion sensors, the intuitive controller allows players to physically control the action by performing various movements and gestures on the board that directly translate into amazing tricks in the game. Without complex button combinations or analog sticks, gamers of all skill levels can literally step on the board and play!

Those who are interested can check out Tony Hawk: RIDE when it arrives later this year - just make sure you’re rocking to an Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii consoles.

Sony Ericsson’s Aino

Sony Ericsson has just released a mobile phone called the Aino which is able to sync wirelessly with a PS3. I am not certain if this is the first mobile phone to connect to a video game console, but if it is, then it is a long time coming.

After all, who wouldn’t want instant access to their digital content on their PS3 from their mobile phone? As long as there is mobile internet available on the Aino, the user can sit back at watch whatever content is on that large PS3 hard drive.

In addition to that huge connect-to-PS3 as their biggest selling point, the Aino can also sync wirelessly to your PC. Other features include a 8.1 Megapixel camera, 3G connectivity, and assisted GPS. It also comes with a Bluetooth headset, a wireless dock, and light-up headphones.

When I first saw that the Aino could sync with the PS3, I immediately had visions of surfing through the main menu of the PS3 on my mobile and playing games, sans joystick. Not in this version of the Aino, but I am hoping that I’m giving Sony Ericsson a few ideas. Not that they aren’t already thinking what I’m thinking, I’m sure.

Sony Ericsson’s Aino should be available in the fall, but so far, there is no word on a price. Rumor has it that the Aino is slated for a European-only release.

Sony brings downloadable media to PS3

Sony is doing something new in this Christmas as the company will offer downloadable media content for the system on a worldwide basis. The company’s online and digital distribution platform will be fully integrated into the PS3 browser and simply known as PlayStation Network. But Sony has not disclosed any specifications about downloadable media.

The only update we have is that, Sony will distribute some high-definition game footage and related documentary clips. Japanese PS3 owners with Internet access will be able to download content onto their PS3 hard drives. But this time, Sony is coming up with non-game related programming. I am not sure, whether Sony will charge you fee or it will offer you free.

Mega Drive Portable clone available at Play Asia

Popular games consoles in the cyber world are increasingly falling prey to piracy. The low-priced cloned versions always do not match the quality of the originals. However, their low prices do not leave much space for complaint from gamers with low budget. The TechToy Mega Drive officially licensed by Sega is having competition from its clones - the first one being from Brazil and currently a more recent cloned device has been discovered on Play-Asia.com.

The 16-bit video games console from Sega has been popular in Brazil and Europe, but had been unable to attain any significant share in the American and the Japanese gaming market. In North America, Mega Drive goes by the name Genesis to avoid trademark related confusion. The Mega Drive had huge initial success, when it was first released as the then gaming world was tired of the 8-bit NES. After Nintendo arrived, it is becoming increasing difficult for Sega Mega Drive to retain its popularity.

The duplicate devices, it seems, will not be able to find many takers since the original gaming device has lost the huge chunk of its customers already to Nintendo.

Rifle Gun Prop: New Nintendo Wii accessory

A lot of accessories for Wii’s most innovative remote had already been intended; even before the console made its first appearance in jam-packed gaming market, especially, gun accessories, that became popular withing not time. Wii-Zapper is one of them that was announced by Nintendo at E3 Expo ‘07.

Rifle Gun Prop is another armor to the Wii arsenal that makes your Wii-mote and Nunchuck controllers more perilous than ever. The Wii-mote is placed in front of the gun, while the Nunchuck fits comfortably into the handle. The newly flanged accessory seems to be a remake of Wii-Zapper with quite analogous control and placement scheme.

Key features:

 Better single/dual grip

 Lock and load

Well balanced and weighted Blaster control system

 Complete-range motion detection for Wii-mote

Fine tuned with Wii-mote’s innovation motion controls

 Unbreakable hard plastic body

So, if you want a higher degree of realism while shoring your enemies in an FPS or TPS or knock off them from a distance, the Rifle Gun Prop is the ideal that retails for $16.58.

Logitech G940 Flight System

Logitech has just recently announced a new type of controller for flying games such as Flight Simulator and the like. As you can see, the G940 is designed to put the player in the cockpit as possible. After all, these controls were “inspired by commercial and military aircraft” and include a joystick, dual throttle, and rudder pedals.

The joystick has a two stage metal trigger, along with six programmable buttons. As for the dual-throttle, it has a “split design for multiple engine aircraft with push button interlocks”. With these two controllers working together, the user has the option of up to 250 possible programmable button combinations.

This means no more shifting from the mouse to the keyboard to get your plane to do what you want it to do. Of course, that does mean a lot of remembering what button combination does what. However, I have learned that Logitech intends for pre-designed labels to slip inside buttons. For example, the landing gear button will have a specific place.

So, what have we learned here? A Logitech G940 Flight Controller plus a tri-fold screen equals one realistic flight gaming experience. If this is something that you want, you will have to wait until September to purchase the G940 for a price of $299.99.

Wii games get more exciting with shark-like gun

Recently, a new design of Wiimote for Wii games — Paga Shark Light Gun — hits the market. Priced reasonably at $10.86, gamers can easily avail this stylish and attractive item, resembling a shark, from the stores now. It will give the players the satisfaction of pointing the shark gun at the television set while playing the game, similar to that of an US Military man.

The shark gun is easy to use. You just need to plug in the nonchuk at the gun at the bottom and then attach the Wii remote connect to it before you initiate the Wii game. With its unique appearance and user-friendliness, the new shark gun is sure to make the game more stimulating and it is expected to become exceedingly popular among all ardent gamers across the world.

Pocket Retro Game Emulator

Despite all the advancements made in the world of portable gaming to date, there is just something appealing about going retro, even more so when you can carry those classic games with you wherever you go to kill time during short breaks at work or on a long commute back. ThinkGeek understands this and has released the Pocket Retro Game Emulator to cater such needs.

The Pocket Retro Game Emulator looks a bit like the GameBoy Pocket but that’s where the similarities end. Load on NES, SNES, GBA, Sega Genesis, or Neo Geo roms and play your old favorites in the palm of your hand. With 4GB of built-in storage and a mini SD slot for expansion you can bring every single game from the best classic consoles with you. Of course in typical all encompassing gadget style you can also play movie files, audio files, use the built-in FM radio, view jpg images, read E-books, do voice recording etc…

The Pocket Retro Game Emulator will come with four control buttons on the right alongside two shoulder buttons - just nice for games up to the 16-bit era. You will need to transfer ROMs over to the Pocket Retro Game Emulator via USB from a computer, but we won’t tell you where to get those. No idea if you would want to fork out $99.99 for this when the PSP already comes with homebrew solutions to handle old school games…

New Saitek Gaming Gear all set to thrill gaming enthusiasts!

‘Saitek’ has taken the opportunity to unveil it’s new line of gaming peripherals at the CES-2008. The company’s accessories promises not only to do more and make playing more fun, but also to reduce the toll that gaming takes on the body. Accessories showcased include their new designs for gaming keyboards, mouse, headsets and game-pad.

The new Cyborg Keyboard is featured with multi-color back-lighting that can help add more drama while playing. It offers additional programmable keys that can help cut down a lot of response time in a game. It also provides a wrist-rest, you can adjust to lessen the stress on wrists while gaming. The new Cyborg Mouse comes loaded with an adjustable click strength and features a new design that allows you to customize the grip to snug-fit your palm.

It also features two programmable buttons and the ability to memorize settings of your most frequently-played games. The Cyborg Headset boasts of the usual frills like portability with USB ports, an adjustable microphone and the now-standard inbuilt, volume-cum-mute controls.

But what makes it interesting is the featured surround-sound system using 3 Audio drivers per ear, which promises a user-experience as close to the real thing as possible.

The Cyborg Rumble Programmable Gamepad features pairs of shoulder triggers, analog triggers and joysticks. Two featured innovations here are the FPS and Precision buttons that can especially make playing shooting games easy. Saitek has chosen not to reveal the pricing or the markets for the new products as yet. Guess, that gives the gaming folks something to look forward to!

Page - 2 Nintendo's Wii Zapper: New age gaming gun

Those 8-bit video game consoles have been every kid’s favorite pass-time in the early 90s. I’m sure kids of those times can remember the wired guns used to shoot ducks and clay discs. Mario was without no doubt best game of that era and was pretty famous back then and many people enjoy it still now. And wired gun were the best and most stylish things to use. Nintendo is back with the concept and has totally revolutionized the idea.

Nintendo’s Wii console has been in the news for all good reasons; the level of human-game interaction WiiMote provides is match to no other. With Wii Zapper (Wii gun) WiiMote will get another add on to the list.

Wii Zapper is white colored and goes with the WiiMote theme, its design is like that of a sub-machine gun. The Zapper uses WiiMote’s controls for the functionality as WiiMote settles on the top of Wii Zapper. It is designed for best shooting experience and retails for USD 20 and comes with ‘Link’s Crossbow Training’ Game.

Wii Bowling Ball from CTA Digital

I’ve noticed a lot of accessories for WiiSports, and most of them are golf clubs and tennis rackets. This is the first time I have seen one for Wii Bowling, and I’m not certain that it will not be the last.

This particular accessory was on display at this year’s E3, and was designed by CTA Digital. It is apparently fashioned after an “authentic bowling ball”, and the user has to open it up and put in the Wii remote and close this ball.

From there, you have to “plug the holes with your fingers”, but I don’t see any holes on this guy. I see three buttons, and unless you can push those in really deep, those are hardly holes.

At first I thought you would have to take off the WiiStrap in order use this accessory, but I’ve just read that the user has to use the WiiStrap in order hold the ball on their wrist. I suppose that’s to keep you from bowling through your flatscreen.

I’m not certain how much this weighs, but it doesn’t look too heavy to me. In fact, I remember having a lightweight plastic bowling kit as a kid, and this ball looks a lot like it. At least I don’t have to manually set up the pins.

Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing and availability on this product, but it is compatible to several Wii bowling games.

SmartFish Pro Motion Game Controller for healthy hands

Usually gaming accessories are more worried about being the best design in order to get it so that you can play the game as best you can. However, this controller from SmartFish has a different goal in mind, while still trying to keep the controller as normal as possible. It is more worried about ergonomics and the health of your hands and wrists. Which is good, since some gamers spend a great deal of time on their console and would be mortified if they had to give up their beloved games over something like carpal tunnel.

GameBone Pro charges your iPhone while you play

I couldn’t really tell you why someone decided to create a controller shaped like a dog bone. You would hope that they can tell how ridiculous it looks, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t. At least one thing’s for sure, it’ll stand out in your mind. Even if it only stands out due to a rather unfortunate shape. Despite being quite ugly, this controller does have some serious perks to it that might have people willing to overlook its appearance.

Sabre OLED gaming keyboard

Remember Art Lebedev’s OLED keyboard that worked, albeit costing much more than what most of us are willing to pay for a fancy peripheral? Well, here’s something similar albeit going for much less with a less impressive feature set, where only the numeric keys will feature OLED capability, while the rest of the keys are pretty much your run-of-the-mill stuff. Known as the OCZ Sabre, it comes with a layered shortcut system and blue LED sidelighting to make up for its shortcomings. While we do know that the Sabre is more than ready to ship, there is no word on a price tag just yet.

Blackbird 002: HP's Gaming PC

Proposed merger of Voodoo PC with HP in September 2006 was a major occurrence in the business world. It is merely a year of governance of new entity and we have started reaping fruits of alliance as HP has introduced a new gaming PC dubbed Blackbird 002. The premium gaming PC seems to be introduced for choking the huge success of ‘Dell’s XPS 720′.

Hosting a rich hardware, HP’s Blackbird owns AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors and Radeon HD graphics cards to Intel Core 2 Extreme CPUs, Nvidia GeForce 8-series GPUs, with Ageia PhysX physics accelerator cards and Blu-ray burners to boot. Moreover, unlike the XPS, the Blackbird uses standard ATX motherboards and power supplies, making it easier to upgrade.

HP says that Blackbird 002 has been designed by gamers and for gamers. Beautified with gorgeous looks including aluminum chassis, the cast-aluminum foot, the PC has is designed to deliver extreme performance. It features patented, full system liquid-cooling to keep itself running cool in even the most heated head-to-head gaming scenarios.

The system’s removable side panel, open BIOS, and interior and back panel LED lighting make it convenient for gamers to get inside the machine for performance modification.

Blackbird 002 will be available for purchase from October 1st onward with one year limited warranty at a suggestive price of $2500 - $7100 (Pricing depends on configuration).

Sony confirms 40GB Playstation3 for European market

Finally Sony has revealed the long-expected 40GB PlayStation 3, which promises a much lower-cost version of the Blu-Ray game console in the European market. The new version has double storage value than the previous model launched in Japan and the US.

Sony will offer the new 40GB PlayStation at the price of 399 Euros. To achieve its new price, the 40GB version drops the compatibility of hardware PlayStation 2, like the 80GB model. It has also discarded both the card reader and two of the four USB ports. The HDMI 1.3 output and the other significances of the game system are the same as for all models.

The price would be the key point as the minimum cost of buying PlayStation 3 now drops from £425 to £299 in the UK. While the 60GB version with an extra controller is being phased out entirely and it will drop to £350 in the UK and €499 in Europe.

In the press release of the company, the company stated that the new model is no longer backwards compatible with PlayStation 2 titles, which reflects the both the reduced emphasis placed on this feature amongst latest purchasers of PS3.

Sony Denies New PSP

Recently, gaming industry is speculating about the new PSP. But, Sony entered the scenario to control the situation. John Koller, Marketing Manager of Sony Computer Entertainment put end to all these speculations. He clarified that no such announcements have yet been made. But, he didn’t compltrely deny about the reworking of portable.

All these rumors spread after Kotaku, a gaming blog, said about the new PSP being informed by the close sources of Sony. It will come later this year. It is also clarified that system would not follow the footsteps of current PSP, whereas it would be akin to DS Lite. Sources of Kotaku also informed that revised PSP would be having small body, much enhanced screen. In order to speed up the load times, it has internal flash memory.

Koller also said that, “We haven’t announced anything about a new PSP, much less one that would have any phone capabilities.”

BluWave PS3 remote & Charge Base from Nyko Yashpal | Sep 10 2008 The leading gaming peripherals developer, Nyko has introduced two new accessories d

It seems like monopoly in PC peripheral industry failed to quench Logitech’s thirst for status and riches, hence has thrown hat into the gaming ring as the company has expressed its wish to develop a gaming controller. Chris Spearing, UK and Ireland manager for Logitech, has informed that his company is contemplating a new gaming peripheral that is virtually a Wiimote substitute. The new peripheral will be a combination of two distinct features -

1) Wii-mote’s motion-sensing capability

2) Sixaxis’ rumble control

Talking about rumble vs. motion control issue, Spearing said that Sixaxis’ force-feedback really works for some games. And for the Wii-mote’s intuitive motion-sensing feature, he said people rush out to score a Wii for realism, which they get while swinging a tennis racket or waving arm to and fro while playing Bowling.

The idea is unique and both the vibrant features collectively tend to do a great job. Once they figure out what technology the controllers bring in use, they’d immediately put unrivaled idea into practice.

However, the company has yet to make a formal announcement, but we are quite sure that the company will develop the new hybrid controller for the PS3.

May God bless Nintendo with peace (lolzz).

BluWave PS3 remote & Charge Base from Nyko

The leading gaming peripherals developer, Nyko has introduced two new accessories designed for PS3 console. The peripherals are The ChargeBase (a SIXAXIS controller charger) and BluWave (an infrared remote control) that make a good use of traditional infrared light waves to communicate with PS3 consoles.

The ChargeBase is the peripheral that provides PS3 owners a charging and storage solution for rumbling SIXAXIS controllers. The charging station can very easily accommodate four chargers at a time with featuring an external power supply in place of USB power. With a more prolific approach, the charger can be plugged directly into any wall outlet.

On the other hand, BluWave remote control is the device designed exclusively for PS3, allows an easy access to movies and music on Blu-Ray, DVD, and CD.

As we see the design of the controller, we don’t find any innovative work as the peripherals come with pretty traditional look, but entrenched Polyurethane coated buttons provide an additional comfort and durability that won’t get torn-off, so easily.

So, if you find it quite uncomfortable with a cluster of cables laying around your table, get your hands on cable-free ChargeBase charger for just $40.

Sony Planning Gaming Phone (Again)

Sony is considering development of a gaming and cell phone hybrid to compete with Apple’s iPhone.

According to Reuters, Japanese business daily Nikkei said that the company aims to form a development team as early as next month to create a product that combines the PSP handheld gaming device and the Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

This would not be the first time that Sony has created such a hybrid. The company that created the Walkman has released phones with that branding, but has still fallen well behind Apple in the music-player market

The Best Gaming Mouse is Yours

People say that by getting the best gaming mouse you will be able to win at all of your games. But, just like with all things, this is very subjective. For some people, they like a wireless mouse that gives more mobility. For others, a wired mouse is useful because it gives the best response. Other than that, it is all up to your preference. If you do go with one type of mouse or another, make sure to get a proper brand. Microsoft usually makes very good wireless mouse. But, the top of the line is LogicTech, so go with that.
